MANILA, Philippines - San Miguel Beer built a huge 20-point lead right in the first half and refused to slow down, frustrating
Sta. Lucia Realty, 88-69, in the KFC PBA Philippine Cup road game at the Victorias Sports Center in Victorias, Negros
Occidental last night.

The Beermen opened the game with a 7-0 run and never looked back in fashioning out the rout in the contest serving as
the third leg of the Phoenix Fuel PBA on Tour.

It was the Beermen’s fourth straight win after beginning their campaign in the season with back-to-back losses to the
Barangay Ginebra Kings and the Alaska Milk Aces.

Talk n Text and Rain or Shine, making it four in a row while handing Sta. Lucia a third loss against the same number of
wins.

Meanwhile, Talk n Text and Ginebra seek to improve their slates in the upper half of the chart as they go up against
separate opponents at the resumption of play at the Araneta Coliseum today.

The Beermen took control from start to finish against the Realtors with Arwind Santos, Dorian Peña, Dondon Hontiveros,
Lordy Tugade and Denok Miranda leading the searing SMB charge.

Hontiveros and Santos starred in a strong closing run in the second quarter giving the Beermen a 48-28 spread at the turn.

Santos intercepted a Sta. Lucia crosscourt pass and streaked away for a thunderous two-handed jam to cap the first-half
scoring.

and the same number of assists.

Miranda played inspired basketball in his first game against his former team, winding up with 10 points.
