Aces eye 5-0 start

The Alaska Aces try to keep their hot streak going while the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters hope that their run of bad luck
would finally end when they play separate opponents today at the resumption of the 35th PBA Philippine Cup today at the
Araneta Coliseum.

Rain or Shine is expected to have its hands full against the powerhouse San Miguel Beermen in the first game, while the
Aces' unbeaten streak will be at stake when they clash with the Sta. Lucia Realtors in the main game.

Occupying the solo top spot of the standings with a clean 4-0 (win-loss) slate, Alaska will try to overcome possible ill effects
of a long layoff as it hasn't played since Oct. 25, when it trounced the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings, 105-96.

The Realtors will be extra motivated going into the game since a victory will allow them to join the Aces at the number one
spot.

Sta. Lucia is at solo second place with three wins and one loss.

Meanwhile, ending a long drought won't be easy for the Elasto Painters—not with the Beermen as their opponents.

Rain or Shine is at the bottom of standings with a 0-4 record.

San Miguel, after suffering two losses at the start of the tournament, is now tied with Purefoods and Barako Bull at fourth
spot with similar 2-2 slates.
