“No negotiation has been made,” said SBP executive director Noli Eala. “We have to wait for the outcome of his discussion
with Burger King.”

- Aguilar joined the Smart Gilas squad on a trip to Singapore,
where it plays the Singapore Slingers today.
- “We have yet to offer him anything,” said Eala. “He has to settle
his obligation with Burger King first before we discuss a
possible contract with SBP.”
- Joining Aguilar are the equally controversial Mark Barroca,
naturalization target CJ Giles, former Ateneo ace Chris Tiu and a
pair of Filipino-Australians—Sebastian Salinas and Matthew
Schmechtig.
- “Should Japeth [sign with] us, we will treat him like any other
player,” said Eala.
- Smart Gilas aims to bring the RP team back to the Olympics.
